Some Photos from My Backyard

I am really trying to be better about taking more pictures so I decided to take some of the pretty foliage of my backyard area. Can you find the gecko in two of the photos?

I will be away for a few days because I am going to Oahu with my mom and her friend Larissa (LeRu) to go thrift shopping for my moms shop! Looking forward to getting off this island for a bit. Hopefully I will be good about taking some pictures of what we find. Have a great Monday!

We Moved!

I have been a little absent from blogging because it took us almost all week to move. We decided that we wanted to live in a newer place and go back to condo living. We rented an older home for about a year and it made us realize that we arent quite ready for the maintenance that an old home requires. Both of us work a lot and it always felt a bit big for just the two of us. Excited to be cleaning less and am loving how modern everything is in our new abode. It smells like a model home and I think our cat is liking it as well.

I just ordered some fun tree decals and I think once they are up I will post some photos of the new place.

So which would you prefer? An older home that needed a lot of work or a new condo/apartment?

Taking a Little Break

I have decided to take a one week break from blogging to help myself catch up on all the work I need to do. I have a lot on my plate right now and as much as I love to blog it is more time on the computer than I can handle at the moment. I will be back next Monday with more posts. Have a great week!

Update

Last night at around 9:30pm I hear that there is an earthquake in Japan and that there is a tsunami warning for the state of Hawaii. I have gone through several tsunami warnings while I have lived here and so I know what to do to prepare for the worst and fortunately most of the time it doesn't do too much damage. We started to research how severe the earthquake was and came across some pretty scary videos of the tsunami that hit Japan. This is when I started to worry that we could experience something similar. We are only about 75 feet above sea level and they say you should be at around 100 feet. Our safe spot is only about a 5 minute drive and its at around 300 feet.

We ended up going to bed at around 2am after the news let us know that they didn't expect it to hit very hard. I was happy to wake up this morning with everything in tact. Some places got water damage and there is more debris scattered around but nothing too serious. I feel very lucky and my heart goes out to the people that had to experience this horrible catastrophe first hand. I really cannot imagine what my day would be like today if we did get hit like they did. Instead I am spending the day celebrating my husbands birthday. The chocolate fudge cake is in the oven and looking forward to spending some good times with friends.

Thank you everyone for your comments, emails and calls and for thinking of us. It means a ton! :)
