Day 217 - The 4th Of July-ie & Julia

Day 217.

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

I was originally planning on writing some kind of elaborate, well thought-out essay on how Julia Child spent her life asserting herself and rebelling against the male-dominated field of professional cooking and how her journey closely mirrored the United States' own revolt and subsequent declaration of independence from Great Britain 235 years ago, but then I was all like "Nah, that's really stupid. Fuck it, I already wasted 2 hours of this national holiday watching this crap movie. I'm just gonna post pictures of J&J actors looking patriotic or something."

Here's to slacking off on your silly 365-day gimmick blogging project--the most American thing of all!

Cheers, America!

Seriously though, only in America can an I'm-going-to-watch-Julie & Julia-every-day-for-a-year blog like this exist. God bless this country and its never-ending appetite for silly, trivial things. And finally, God bless Julia Child, America's favorite chef.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July, everybody! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
